Public integration overview

Charigent TikTok Integration

This page is the public website URL for Charigent's TikTok integration at https://charigent.com/integrations/tiktok. It explains how Charigent uses TikTok Login Kit and Content Posting API, and how the separately approval-gated TikTok Business engagement connection is isolated inside the production Charigent application.

This is a reviewer overview without disclosing proprietary implementation details.

Production status

Approved and live

TikTok approved Charigent's Direct Post revision for production on July 29, 2026. Connected creators can now choose a creator-controlled direct post or a review-first TikTok inbox draft.

How users access the integration

A signed-in Charigent user starts from /dashboard/connections, chooses TikTok, and completes the TikTok authorization flow. Charigent stores the connected account state needed for the user to select that TikTok account later from the production social publishing workflow.

Users create or select a video in /dashboard/social-media/scheduler, choose the connected TikTok destination, and submit either a creator-controlled direct post or a review-first draft upload.

Approved TikTok scopes

  • user.info.basic identifies the connected TikTok account inside Charigent.
  • video.list allows Charigent to show recent public videos for the connected account when users review the connection.
  • video.upload lets Charigent send a video to the creator's TikTok inbox as a draft for final review, editing, and posting in TikTok.
  • video.publish lets an authorized creator publish a reviewed video directly after choosing the TikTok-provided privacy and interaction settings and giving express consent.

These are the only TikTok for Developers scopes used by this integration. Comment management and direct-message management are not granted by these scopes.

Direct posting is live

The approved video.publish workflow gives each connected creator control before every submission:

  • Charigent loads and displays the current TikTok account identity and creator settings.
  • Privacy choices come from TikTok for that creator and start with no option selected.
  • Comment, duet, and stitch controls start off and remain unavailable when TikTok disables them.
  • The creator previews the video, confirms its duration, and selects commercial and AI-generated-content disclosures.
  • The creator gives express consent for the selected video and settings before publishing.
  • Charigent checks TikTok processing status and shows the final success or failure state.

Charigent honors the current privacy options and interaction restrictions returned by TikTok for each connected creator rather than presenting unsupported choices.

Automated Charigent workflows continue to use the review-first inbox path because direct posting requires a creator's per-post choices and consent.

Comments and direct messages

This TikTok for Developers integration does not read or reply to TikTok comments or direct messages. Those capabilities are separate from Login Kit and Content Posting API and require a TikTok for Business app, business-account authorization, the Organic API comments permission, and Business Messaging API access.

Charigent has implemented that second connection as TikTok Business Engagement. It stores separate tokens, checks comment and messaging permissions independently, validates signed webhooks, and remains disabled until the provider grants the requested access and an authorized Business Account is connected. TikTok video publishing and TikTok conversation management therefore have independent production states.

Business Messaging is not presented as available for accounts in the EEA, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom. United States access remains subject to TikTok's separate US data-security review. Charigent does not route unsupported regional message events into the Social Inbox.

Legal and data handling

Charigent uses connected TikTok data only to provide the user's requested connection, account identification, public-video listing, direct posting, and draft upload workflows. Charigent does not sell TikTok user data.

Reviewer notes

The production publishing app name is Charigent. The TikTok app is used for Charigent's web application on charigent.com. The visible product flow in demo videos should show the production Charigent UI on this same domain, the TikTok authorization step, the selected TikTok account, the video preview, creator-provided privacy and interaction choices, disclosures, express consent, the live submit action, and the final TikTok processing result. Review-first draft upload remains available as the non-direct alternative.

The separately submitted TikTok for Business app uses the neutral name Charigent Social Connect. Its reviewer flow starts in Connections, authorizes a Business Account, shows granted capabilities on the connection detail page, routes supported comments and messages into Social Inbox, and sends a user-controlled reply back to the original thread.
